Crime Prevention Tips
-
Stay Alert and Aware
Always be aware of your surroundings. Report suspicious behavior, unattended bags, or unknown individuals to school staff or law enforcement immediately. FOR EMERGENCIES, CALL 911! -
Lock It, Hide It, Keep It
Lock your car and keep valuables out of sight. Don’t leave backpacks, electronics, or personal items unattended or visible inside your vehicle. -
Practice Safe Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Obey school zone speed limits and traffic signs. Use only designated drop-off/pick-up areas and avoid blocking travel lanes, crosswalks, or driveways. -
Secure Personal Belongings
Remind students to lock their lockers and secure items. Staff should lock classrooms and workspaces when unattended. -
Say Something
If you see or hear something concerning — online or in person — report it immediately. Anonymous tip lines and school staff are always available. -
Be Social Media Smart
Think before you post. Never share personal information or location details publicly. Report cyberbullying or online threats. -
Know Emergency Procedures
Students and staff should know the school’s safety drills and emergency plans. Parents should also stay informed about school protocols. -
Keep School Grounds Safe
Report broken locks, lights, or gates to maintenance or school personnel. Small fixes can prevent bigger safety issues. -
Build Positive Relationships
A connected community is a safer one. Get to know your assigned Police Officers, teachers, administrators and staff members. -
Encourage Safe Walking and Biking
Use sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes. Avoid distractions like phones or headphones when crossing streets. Follow crossing guard instructions.
