Superintendent Jhone Ebert is spearheading the transformation of the Clark County School District (CCSD) into a Destination District, a place that students, employees, and families choose because they know what is possible here. Ebert and the Board of School Trustees operate as a “Team of 12” focused on building community trust and accelerating the district’s momentum to create schools that will make Southern Nevada proud.
Superintendent Ebert often says that “CCSD is on the move.” Thanks to the hard work of CCSD’s students and educators, there is positive momentum throughout CCSD. In 2025, 136 schools improved their star ratings on the Nevada Report Card, and graduation rates rose by 5.1%. Ebert’s leadership team is now accelerating that growth through the following key initiatives:

A 100-Day Plan to improve climate and culture, including significant across-the-board increases for CCSD’s valued employees

Prioritizing academic excellence through the “Core Four” academic areas of PreK, early literacy, middle school math, and Workforce and College Readiness

A Facility Master Plan, “Building Brighter Futures,” to ensure all students have access to beautiful, safe, modern buildings

An efficiency study to maximize funds sent to the classroom

A strategic plan that co-designs CCSD’s future to align with student, family, and community priorities
Before joining CCSD, Ebert served as Nevada’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, where she overhauled the state’s 54-year-old funding formula into a student-focused model. A longtime Southern Nevada resident who started her career as a middle school math teacher, she holds a Master’s in Education from UNLV and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from Fresno State.
