Goodsprings Elementary School Celebrates Last School Day Before Closing

Goodsprings Elementary School Celebrates Last School Day Before Closing

The Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrated the final day for the two students currently enrolled at Goodsprings Elementary School, as well as staff, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, as the school will close to the public at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year.

The celebration included a bell-ringing and flag ceremony, a tradition at the school for several decades, and a campus tour. Superintendent Jhone Ebert and CCSD Board of School Trustees Vice President Irene Bustamante Adams were also in attendance to honor the school.

Goodsprings Elementary School first opened in 1913 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The CCSD Board of School Trustees approved the repurposing of Goodsprings Elementary School on April 23, 2026, as well as the reassignment of students in Kindergarten–Grade 5 living in the Goodsprings area to Sandy Valley Elementary School, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
