CCSD Magnet schools continue to be nationally recognized

LAS VEGASThe Clark County School District (CCSD) continues to receive significant national recognition for its Magnet programs, with 41 different programs at 40 schools earning prestigious merit awards from Magnet Schools of America (MSA) for the 2025–2026 school year. These honors come as MSA celebrates National Magnet Schools Month in February.

Thirteen programs earned the coveted Top Magnet School of Excellence Award, 13 received the Magnet School of Excellence designation, and 15 were named Magnet Schools of Distinction. These awards are a testament to the schools' success in raising student achievement, serving all students, and providing innovative, theme-based instruction.

“This outstanding achievement by our Magnet schools demonstrates that CCSD continues to set a high bar for academic excellence and innovation in Nevada and throughout the nation,” said CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert. “We are incredibly proud of the students, educators, and leaders whose hard work makes our Magnet programs continuously shine as we become the Destination District.”

The following CCSD programs earned the 2025–2026 MSA Top Magnet School of Excellence Award:

  • The STEAM Academy at James Cashman Middle School
  • Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts
  • Desert Pines Magnet Academy
  • East Career and Technical Academy
  • Eldorado High School
  • Las Vegas Academy of the Arts
  • Gordon McCaw STEAM Academy
  • Northwest Career and Technical Academy
  • Rancho High School - Academy of Aviation Science and Technology
  • Walter Johnson Junior High School Academy of International Studies
  • West Career and Technical Academy
  • Thurman White Academy of the Performing Arts

The following CCSD programs earned the 2025–2026 MSA Magnet School of Excellence Award:

  • The STEM and Medical Academy at Jim Bridger Middle School
  • B. Mahlon Brown Academy of International Studies
  • Clarence A. Piggott Academy of International Studies
  • Ed W. Clark High School
  • Jo Mackey iLead Academy for the Digital Sciences
  • John C. Fremont Professional Development Middle School and Academy of Medical Sciences
  • Hyde Park Middle School Academy of Science & Mathematics
  • K.O. Knudson Academy of the Arts
  • Rancho High School - Academy of Pre-Medicine
  • Mike O'Callaghan Middle School i³ Learn Academy
  • Southeast Career and Technical Academy
  • Veterans Tribute Career and Technical Academy

“Receiving this national recognition from Magnet Schools of America validates the exceptional work happening in our schools every day,” said CCSD Magnet Schools Director Sheryl Colgan. “Our Magnet programs provide students with unique opportunities to explore their passions and develop specialized skills, preparing them for future success in college and careers. We are thrilled to celebrate this achievement with our entire community.”

Schools will be recognized and will receive their awards during a ceremony at MSA’s National Conference, held April 14-17, 2026, in San Diego.
