Dual Language Program |

The dual language immersion component began in kindergarten in the school year of 2002/2003 and in each consecutive year one grade level will be added to the immersion program for the acquisition of a second language. The students will be bilingual and bi-literate by the end of third grade.
GOALS OF THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAM Develop social and academic competence in two or more languages. Direct exposure to a variety of cultural settings through academics, and the arts. Instruction emphasizes high academic performance in all core subjects areas based on district, state, and national standards. Students have opportunities to communicate in a variety of ways to different audiences.
PROGRAM CONFIGURATION Full-day kindergarten program 50% of the instruction is in English. 50% of the instruction is in Spanish. Teachers are pure language models Students learn two different language structures and phonemic systems simultaneously. Integrated curriculum
