Truancy

A truancy is defined as an absence resulting from the parent's failure or refusal to require a student's attendance for educationally unacceptable reasons.  Nevada school law does not distinguish between truancy resulting from action from the student and/or parent.  Teachers may use their discretion in providing make-up work for those students who are found truant.
