Student Dress Code - CCSD:
Student's dress and personal appearance shall not disrupt or detract form the educational environment of the school. Any style, which tends to diminish instructional effectiveness or discipline control by teachers will not be acceptable. The following dress code is in effect for all Clark County School District schools and students:
- Require the wearing of shoes with soles.
- Require the wearing of shirts or blouses appropriately buttoned in accord with the design of that shirt or blouse. The length must extend beyond the belt level.
- Require that all shorts, skirts, and dresses be at fingertip length. If shorts are worn, they must be hemmed and without fraying.
- Prohibit wearing transparent, see-through tops, bare midriff, strapless, low-cut clothing, clothing with slits, or tops and outfits that provide minimum coverage.
- Prohibit the wearing of headgear on campus except for designated school approved uniforms at authorized athletic practices or activities.
- Prohibit slogans or advertising on clothing which by their controversial or obscene nature disrupt the educational setting. No spiked or studded clothing.
- Prohibit the wearing of spaghetti straps; all sleeveless shirts must have straps at least three inches wide and cover the shoulder.
- Coats, mittens, and scarves must be removed upon entering the classrooms. The school administration will have the right to designate which types of dress, fashion, fads, or appearance disrupt or detract from the educational program and may be a potential safety hazard. The principal shall retain the authority to grant exceptions for special occasions and/or special conditions.

Uniforms:
At Jo Mackey, a mandatory Standard Student Attire (SSA) policy is in place. We believe that a “Standard Student Attire” will build unity, spirit, and school pride. The benefits of Standard Student Attire will encourage and promote student responsibility, self-discipline, and prepare our students for future success. One of our goals for our school of leadership is to create a positive atmosphere to improve academic achievement for all students. Therefore, students are required to commit to this policy for the entire school year. |

STANDARD STUDENT ATTIRE DISCIPLINE POLICY: |

| If a student is not dressed in Standard Student Attire the following discipline procedure will take place: 1st violation: Conference with administration Phone call home Change of clothes offered 2nd violation: RPC – parent must pick-up child & conference with administration 3rd violation: Suspension Students will be provided with missed class work. Students are required to complete & return all class work missed during the discipline process. Free dress days will be scheduled throughout the school year. |

JO MACKEY STANDARD STUDENT ATTIRE: |

- Pants/shorts(finger tip length) in khaki or navy
- Shirts(long or short sleeved, logo-free, school logo with or without collar) in navy, white or burgundy
- Sweaters worn over appropriate shirts in navy, white or burgundy
- Girls may wear shirts/skirts/or jumpers in khaki or navy
- Blouses(long or short sleeved logo free or school logo) in white

| Assistance is available in providing uniform clothing to your child(ren). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a school administrator at 799-7139. You can order all garments listed above with the Jo Mackey Logo from Club Mackey Clothing. Throughout the year, Club Mackey Clothing will provide the opportunity to order Standard Student Attire at our school's front office, over the phone, or by fax. To order by phone, call 799-7139 or to order by fax 799-7132. Logo items are not required; however, solid color shirts can be purchased at local stores like Target, Mervin’s, Penny’s, etc. |
