Our mission at Harmon is to provide our students with the foundations necessary for academic preparedness, self-fulfillment, and an empowered sense of responsible belonging.

Ticket to Read: Voyager Passport has recently added a new technology feature to their intervention program entitled Ticket to Read. This new technology feature provides students with valuable fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension practice and can be accessed either at school or home via internet access. It is most appropriate for grades 1-5. View the Parent's Quick Reference Guide (Spanish version) and contact the child's teacher for login information.

Student Conduct: We expect students to be courteous and kind. School rules and discipline procedures are established to ensure an educational environment in which the teacher can successfully teach and children can successfully learn. Disruptions of the teaching/learning process will not be tolerated. We encourage you to exert your parental authority to ensure that negative behaviors do not become problems during the year and interfere with student learning. Teachers or the school principal will bring any pattern of inappropriate conduct to the attention of the parents.
Attendance: Regular attendance is essential to your child's success at school. Nevada law states that school attendance is compulsory for children between the ages of seven and seventeen. We expect students to be in school every day that they are physically able. If your child is absent, please send a signed note of explanation to the teacher when the student returns. The office must be notified of every absence. If your child is tardy, they must go directly to the office to get a late pass.
Parent Communication: Flowchart identifying steps parents/guardians may take when you have a question, idea or issue/concern to bring forward. (English version, Spanish version)
Health Services: A school nurse is available on a limited basis, usually two days a week. A first aid/safety assistant (FASA) is available daily during school hours. If children require medication during school hours, parents must complete a Medication Release form - CCF 643. Students are not to have medication of any kind in their possession while at school.
