UNLV & UNR Admissions Change

The Nevada State Board of Regents directed UNLV and UNR to change their admissions requirements effective Fall 2008. Under the new requirements, students seeking admission to the universities must have a minimum 2.75 (weighted) grade point average in the required core courses. (Prior to Fall 2008, students needed a 3.0 (weighted) cumulative grade point average in order to be admitted.) Students who have not earned a 3.0 G.P.A. in core courses may seek admission to the universities using alternate criteria; however, there is no guarantee of admission. This includes a personal statement, ACT/SAT test scores, two letters of recommendation, and transcripts. The UNLV and UNR admissions requirements change affects all current high school students.
