TARGET ON PROFICIENCY APRIL 1 &2, 2008
The Clark County School District has designated April 1 & 2, 2008 as the days for District-Wide Proficiency Testing. Those days will be utilized for the administration of the math, reading, and science Nevada Proficiency Exams. The testing schedule on April 1 will encompass the entire school day. All sophomores will be tested in the areas of math and reading. Non-proficient and non-tested juniors and seniors will be tested in the areas of math and reading.
All PROFICIENT juniors and seniors as well as all freshman students are exempt from school attendance on April 1. Seniors and juniors who need to take one test only will be released immediately after the completion of their testing period provided they have personal transportation available and can leave the campus immediately.
Centennial has targeted April 1 and 2 as two days where we can target proficiency. We are encouraging all parents to speak to their child about the importance of a high school diploma and how critical the Nevada high school proficiency exam is to their future. Please take the time to insure your child receives a good night of rest the night on March 31, they get to school on time, know where they report, and eat a good breakfast prior to arriving at school.
If you have any questions regarding the District-Wide Proficiency Testing days, please feel free to contact the Centennial High School counseling office at 799-3440 x4300.
