The City of Henderson is sponsoring the "If I Were the Mayor of Henderson..." Essay Contest. The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 17. This year's winners will read their essays at City Hall at the Mall on Sat., Nov. 22.

Liberty High School hosted the Nevada Thespians' Leadership/Technical Theatre Conference Sept. 19 and 20. Two hundred students from Las Vegas area high school theatre programs took part in leadership activities and technical theatre training workshops.

The annual CCSD Healthcare Career Fair will be held Nov. 13 at NOVA SE University, 8945 W. Russell Road, Las Vegas. Approximately 350 CCSD students who aspire to work in health care are expected to attend the all-day event, which will feature dozens of health care providers including the CCSD Health Services Department. Students in grades 9-12 and their families are invited to take part in the 31st Annual "College Fair Plus" slated for Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20 and 21, from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. in the Cashman Center. The event allows students to explore post-graduation opportunities and meet representatives from universities, colleges, community colleges and technical schools.
