Dance Audition Schedule

Please plan to check in no later than 30 minutes prior to your groups audition time. Students auditioning must be in the auditorium when your group begins in order not to disturb the auditions. Late comers will be denied entrance and allowed to be placed in a later time slot ONLY if space permits.

The theatre is located on Clark Street between 8th and 10th Street (this is not the front of the school located at 315 S. 7th Street). Parking in the lot and street are limited so plan your arrival accordingly. Parking in the church parking lot IS NOT PERMITTED.

Check in opens at 7:00 am. The first auditions start at 8:00 am sharp!

Call backs will be on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Call back sheets by Audition # and will be posted Saturday afternoon in the main lobby of the theatre.

If there are not enough auditioning students to make a Group C than we will modify the schedule and hold callbacks after lunch from 2 – 5 pm prior to dinner. Be prepared to be available during this time as it is a STRONG possibility. See below ALTERNATE SCHEDULE.

Please come dressed for your audition. There will be NO place for you to change. There will be a warm up studio available. Also, please do not bring non-necessary valuables with you. LVNPAA, its staff and volunteers, and colleges are not responsible for lost items. Keep your personal belongings in the assigned area in the room while auditioning.

Each 2 ½ hour audition session will include a ballet, optional pointe section, and modern class. It may also include a jazz combination.

Please only water allowed in the dance studios. NO food allowed in the building. Remember, you are on a school campus so normal school rules apply and will be enforced (ie NO Smoking, NO trespassing in areas that you are not required to be in, etc). Turn off cell phones, pagers, and all electronic equipment while in audition areas. Failure to follow rules and directions of LVNPAA staff and its volunteers may result in your dismissal from the auditions.

Those traveling with you will NOT be allowed to watch the auditions. There will be a waiting place for parents, guardians, teachers, coaches, etc or they are free to drop you off and return for you. There are plenty of activities in the nearby vicinity as we are a few blocks from the historic downtown Fremont Street area, an outdoor outlet mall as well as close proximity to the Las Vegas Strip. There will be NO recording of any kind permitted of the auditions.

It is STRONGLY suggested that you -research the schools and their programs prior to arriving. Participating college websites will be added continually during the registration period. They will be posted on the LVNPAA website.

The main lobby of the theatre will remain open till 8 pm (doors will be closed/locked at 8 PM). Please plan to check callbacks lists Saturday afternoon prior to closing time and to sign up for Sunday callbacks. Please give yourself time to view and complete your callback sign-ups.

We will provide audio equipment (CD player) and a piano accompanist for those planning to do a musical number. Please remember to bring your CD (cued to your piece) or sheet music (for a piano).
