Dance Audition Guidelines
The morning auditions will give students the opportunity for warm-up exercises. You will take part in a 2 ½ hour class that will focus on your ballet and modern/contemporary skills. A jazz combination may also be introduced. An optional pointe section will be provided. A dance combination in both will be taught. The first audition is mandatory.
Appropriate audition attire is required. Ballet slippers (pointe shoes okay if you feel comfortable) for the ballet audition. Students must remove their shoes for the modern/contemporary combination. No warm-ups and sweats are permitted. Please arrive in order to give you enough time to check-in and warm-up.
Students who are invited to "call-back" audition(s) in the evening maybe asked to perform the ballet and/or modern/contemporary combination from earlier that day. Students may also be asked to perform a one-minute solo. Come prepared.
It is STRONGLY recommended that students research the college programs attending prior to coming for the auditions. The websites are directly linked on our homepage.
Resumes and photos will be duplicated (photocopied) for the colleges. You are welcome to bring original copies to handout during callbacks only.
Dance callbacks will be held on Saturday afternoon approximately 1 hour after the dance auditions (after dinner break). If there is not enough auditioning students to make a Group C than we will modify schedule and hold callbacks after lunch from 2 – 5 pm prior to dinner.

Technical Theater Audition Guidelines
The Technical Theatre Interview is the time when prospective theatre technologies students can show the college representatives what they have to offer their program.
This is contained in the Portfolio, which we like to refer to in two parts; the 90-Second Portfolio and the Auxilliary Portfolio.
For the 90-Second Portfolio, the prospective student should prepare a concise presentation of his or her best work, the work for which s/he is most proud, and about which s/he can speak most intelligently and passionately. These four or five pages should not be jammed with photographs and decoration, but should contain carefully chosen photos and drawings that best represent the student's experience with each project or production. This is not to say that the pages should not look well-prepared and thoughtful; they should be professional and neat in appearance. The student should rehearse a 90-second presentation of this work.
During the interview process, the student has a space at a table, and the college representatives rotate from student to student. The student has 90 seconds to present themselves, the representatives will then have about 4 – 5 minutes to ask questions and converse with the student. The student should have extra copies of his/her resumé available to present to each representative, should they want one.
The Callback is the opportunity for the colleges to sell their programs to the students. Lists are posted with names of the students with whom each college would like to spend more time. This is the time where the Auxiliary Portfolio can be utilized, as the representatives have more freedom with their time, and can take the time to get to know the prospective students better. In the Auxiliary Portfolio the student can compile a comprehensive collection of his/her entire theatre history, and have more to share with the representative.
Appropriate attire is required for auditions. At minimal, students should wear dark pants/ collared or dark pants or skirt/shirt or blouse. Jeans, T-shirts, and sneakers are not permitted.
