As
a new employee to the CCSD the following information is provided
to assist as you report to the Clark County School District’s
New Employee Orientation. The New Employee Orientation is held
in the Curriculum and Professional Development Building (CPD),
located at 3950 So. Pecos Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89121 (see map).
Parking spaces for guest attendees are located on the north
end of the CPD Building only. Additional parking space
for overflow is available on Twain Ave. (curbside). See map below
and the corresponding designated parking location on the next
map.

Please do not park in the following areas:
• The Professional Building’s parking lot on the north
end of the CPD building, or
• The Private Driveway on the south end as you enter the
CPD parking lot (south entrance),or
• Parking spaces on the south, east and west sides of the
building.
Vehicles parked in these areas may be towed at the owner’s
expense.

Entrance
into the CPD Building is through the north doorway. Follow the
hallway straight ahead to Room 143. There you will meet staff
members from the Support Staff Personnel Department, Human Resources
Division who will verify that you have been scheduled to attend.
You must bring the following documentation:
1.
Proof of employment eligibility
a)
Example: U.S. Military I.D. State issued I.D; Current Driver’s
License;
b) The above documents must be presented in conjunction with
your Social Security Card or your Birth Certificate
c) Alien Registration card (INS)
d) A Passport (unexpired or expired), or Naturalization Certificate,
may be presented as a stand-alone document
2.
Money Order or cashier’s check for $45.00
3. Proof of fingerprinting from the Clark County School District’s
Police Department only. For directions to the Clark County School
Police (see map below).
4. Social Security number of your dependents and beneficiary for
retirement and insurance enrollment only (no need to bring the
card the number will be adequate).
5. A pen with black ink.
During
the first hour of your orientation you will receive and/or complete
the following:
1.
A TB Test or a referral for Chest X-ray (if required)
2. Welcome Address by the President or Representatives from
the Education Support Employees Association (Union) –
There will be an opportunity for questions and enrollment during
the scheduled break.
3. An overview of the Clark County School District.
4. Documents necessary for placing you into the Clark County
School District’s payroll system.
5. Health Insurance and other Benefits Information.
Immediately
following the short break, you will continue the orientation process.
The remainder of your Orientation Day has been designed to cover
information that will acquaint you with district’s processes
and legally required subject matter content such as: Bloodborne
Pathogens,Your Rights To Know, Sexual Harassment, Customer Service
and more. All of these have been designed to familiarize you with
the CCSD policies, regulations, procedures and practices.
Your
orientation day will be approximately eight hours with a scheduled
lunch break and afternoon break period. To assist you in preparing
for orientation, please adhere to the following:
1.
This is a paid day and attendance is mandatory.
2. Dress appropriately and comfortably.
3. Plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled
time.
4. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
5. Arrange for transportation and childcare, only participants
will be admitted.
6. Currently vending machines are not available. Small snacks
are permitted for attendees with unique situations.
7. A one (1) hour lunch period is scheduled and lunch will be
on your own. (Several restaurants and fast food facilities are
located in the shopping plaza on the west side of Pecos Rd.).
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Accommodations must be requested prior to orientation, i.e.,
sign language interpreters, etc. If you require ADA accommodations,
please call 799-5334 forty-eight hours (48) prior to the date
you will be attending orientation. CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME
