questions regarding forms, timelines, and procedures.

If a probationary support staff employee is not meeting expectations,
what
recourse do administrators have in addressing this concern?
All probationary employees receive evaluations at 3 months
and 6 months. Meeting these timelines remains critical. During
the probationary period, administrators must scrutinize the
employee’s work ethic, performance, professionalism,
etc., and document the findings on the appropriate probationary
appraisal report. View The

When can administrators expect information regarding support
staff entitlements for the coming school year?
As soon as the Support Staff Personnel Department receives
budget, determinations, building administrators will receive
their staffing entitlements. Usually, the timeline comes in
early April.

Are there any circumstances under which building administrators
may request off-ratio positions?
Principals should write a rationale requesting considerations
for unique and special needs and direct that to the attention
of the Director of Support Staff Personnel.

Where can administrators locate written Support Staff Procedures?
A complete document containing all the Human Resources Procedures
can be accessed on-line through the MPS (Management Process

6.
If an administrator has “reasonable suspicion”
that a support staff employee may be under the influence of
either alcohol or a controlled substance, what procedures
should be followed.
The
administrator should contact the Executive Director of Support
Staff Personnel immediately at 799-5213.
Clark
County School District Regulation 4230 provides that the district
may require any employee to have a medical examination by
a physician of the district’s choice at anytime deemed
necessary. The examination(s) and any subsequent medical referral,
by the district of its physicians, are provided at the expense
of the Clark County School District.
