WE CARE Program

Because New Teachers' Family Members Need Jobs Too

The We Care program gives special assistance to families of incoming teachers. Since most households today have two income earners, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce (LVCC) and the Clark County School District have teamed up to help teachers' families find employment, too.

As a joint partnership between the business community and the school district, the We Care program encourages hundreds of employers to give special attention to resumes submitted by the family of incoming teachers. The business community appreciates the need for additional teachers in our community and wants to assist new teachers by helping their loved ones find jobs here in Southern Nevada.

The We Care Program Makes Relocation to Southern Nevada Easier

1. Your loved one's resume is distributed to hundreds of top employers in Southern Nevada.
2. Your loved one will automatically receive a free weekly newsletter that delivers opportunities in his/her specific area of expertise to help him/her search the top jobs in our areas.
3. Your loved one's resume is uploaded into a searchable database accessible only by the top employers in Southern Nevada.

WE CARE Mentoring Program

The "We Care" Mentoring Program was founded several years ago by the Clark County School District and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. "We Care" has been designed to encourage a teacher applicant to accept employment with the district in addition to supplying information about our community.

Each applicant who lives outside the Clark County area and who has been offered a teaching contract with the district is assigned two mentors; one from the community and one who is presently employed as a teacher or administrator with the district.
