A: The New Career Teacher Academy is designed to provide professional learning experiences for teachers new to the education profession. A mentor is also available at your school to assist you.

A: The Experienced Teacher Academy is designed to provide professional learning experiences for experienced teachers new to the District. A mentor is also available at your school to assist you.
Q: Am I required to participate in the New Career Teacher Academy?
A: Yes. Please refer to Article 26-9-1 in the Negotiated Agreement between the Clark County School District and the Clark County Education Association for specific details.
Q: Where do I find information on participating in professional development offered through the New Teacher Induction Program?
A: Information regarding the Teacher Academies is shared during the New Teacher Curriculum Orientation session. It is also provided on the New Teacher Discussion Conference icon.
Q: If I am hired after the beginning of the school year can I still participate in the Induction Program?
A: Yes. Information regarding this opportunity is provided at the New Teacher Curriculum Post-hire Orientation sessions held September – January. Program notification is also included in the employment paperwork in the Contracting Office.
Q: How can I become a Mentor Facilitator?
A: The building administration selects the Mentor Facilitator for the school.
Q: How do I know who my Mentor Facilitator is at my school?
A: Your school administrator can provide you with this information.
Q: Do I have a mentoring program at my school?
A: Yes, each site designs a mentoring program to fit the needs of their teachers.
