Iverson Elementary School is a family affair for namesake

As reported by the View newspaper, the namesake of Mervin Iverson Elementary School is much more than a name on a sign. Iverson spent 41 years in local education. Not only is he a big part of the school named after him 10 years ago, but his son Bradley taught there, while another son, Darin, donated portraits for the school’s corridors and one of his daughters-in-law serves as a frequent substitute teacher at the school campus. Five of his grandchildren will attend Iverson ES during the 2012-2013 school year, and  Iverson's wife, Sherie, makes frequent visits during the school year to accompany the school chorus on piano.
