Media get inside look at one of CCSD's newest turnaround schools

On Aug. 31, 2012, CCSD offered media an inside look at the transformation and initial stages of improvement of one of the District’s newest Turnaround Schools, Mike O’Callaghan Middle School. Visitors saw first-hand how the building was refurbished to create an environment more conducive to learning, including a mural on the outside of the school and inspirational quotes selected by school staff stenciled on the wall outside their classroom. Additionally, Principal Belinda Jones, teachers, parents and students were on hand to share their experiences during the first week of school and discuss how everyone is coming together to change the school's climate and academic performance .
