Vegas PBS' Tom Axtell receives national PBS award

Vegas PBS General Manager Tom Axtell was named the 2012 Scott C. Elliott Development Professional of the Year by the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). The award was presented on July 13, 2012 in Seattle. Paula Kerger, president and CEO of PBS, praised Axtell for his "innovative, creative efforts to build new sources of support for Vegas PBS. From his work on a landmark project to revitalize public television’s development approaches, to his tireless efforts to identify new sources of support for Vegas PBS, Tom is constantly redefining the way public media can fulfill its mission.” Axtell has served as general manager of Vegas PBS since 1994.
