Three Square receives $150,000 in food donations

Three Square Food Bank received two semi truckloads of Kellogg cereal and hundreds of gallons of milk, courtesy of Food 4 Less and Smith’s. The items were delivered June 28, 2012, to the Food Bank's South Campus Warehouse at 4190 North Pecos Road. The donation was part of Kroger’s Bringing Hope to the Table campaign in which $1.2 million worth of food is being donated to 20 different food banks across the country. The local donation is valued at $150,000. According to Three Square Food Bank, more than 55 percent of CCSD students are enrolled in free meal programs due to their families’ economic situation. This equates to 170,000 children who rely on free meals during the school year.
