Nevada Proficiency Examination Program

• Criterion Referenced Tests, Reading: Grades 3-8
• NPE Writing:  Grades 5 & 8
• NHSPE in Reading:  Grades 10, 11, & 12
• NHSPE in Writing:  Grades 11 & 12

The writing traits are used to score the Nevada Proficiency Examination in writing in the fifth and eighth grades.  Holistic scoring is used to assess the Nevada High School Proficiency Examination in writing.  For more information, please see the Nevada Department of Education Writing Assessment site.
