The 21st Century Course of Study is in alignment with the new requirements of the State Millennium Scholarship, which requires four years of mathematics, including Algebra II, and three years of science, two of which must be a lab science. The new requirements for the Millennium Scholarship go into effect for current freshmen, the graduating class of 2010.

If trade, technical school or work is your choice after graduation, electives should be chosen in the appropriate sequence with your career path in mind.  As a junior focusing on technical or trade school, you may consider the 2+2 Tech Prep Program which enables you to ear college credits from the Community College of Southern Nevada while you are enrolled in designated high school courses.  To enter the world of work, all branches of the military, as well as most employers, require a high school diploma for entry-level position.

The minimum high school graduation requirements do not necessarily qualify you for college.  You must research the colleges of your choice for their specific admissions requirements.  These requirements vary depending on the competitiveness of the college/ university.  It is recommended that you complete the minimum college prep courses listed above in each area.

The Advanced Diploma requires additional credits beyond the Standard Diploma.  Students who elect to earn an Advanced Diploma will be required to earn one additional science credit and one additional social studies, arts/ humanities or occupational educational credit in the 24 required credits.  Students must have earned a cumulative 3.00 unweighted GPA.

The Honors Diploma Pathway is fully explained in the Honors Diploma section.
