Take your child somewhere for creative inspiration. There are many free events to attend, for a listing visit the Las Vegas Cultural Arts Center.

Other ideas to inspire your child are:

  • Create A Gallery: High school students like to feel his/her space is theirs to decorate. To protect walls, a "gallery" wall can be prepared by hanging foam core board. The drawings can be push-pinned to the foam core and the child can decorate the board with "frames" (drawn on the board with markers). This way, the drawings have a place to be exhibited without constant pin holes in the wall. Sometimes, foam core and matts can be purchased at discount...or free, from frame shops when slightly damaged or miscut.
  • Have your child get together with friends, write a song or lyrics, and then design what the CD jacket would look like. Looking at other jackets would be part of the planning stage, and almost everyone has access to CDs.
