The Equity & Diversity Education Department invites you to the 1st Annual 2007 National Expectations Seminar, "High Expectations: Increasing Student Achievement" on June 14 and 15, from 4:30 - 9:00 p.m. and June 16 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the UNLV, Student Union Bldg. This seminar will feature eight national speakers such as: Dr. Robert Green, former Dean of Education, Michigan State University. Dr. James Banks, Professor in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Washington, Dr. Gary Orfield, Professor of Education and Social Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Dr. Asa Hilliard, Professor of Urban Education at Georgia State University.
Credits will be available through the following: One (1) TESL graduate level credit from Sierra Nevada College for $60 and one (1) PDE credit will be available for free when you attend 15 conference hours. (PDE credit is pending approval) Credits will also be available for (1) one UNLV Continuing Education Undergraduate for $45.00 and (1) UNLV Graduate credit for $60.00.
