Mission
The mission of the Indian Education Opportunities Program is to provide quality educational programs and services to all eligible
American Indian and Alaska Native students while preserving their unique cultures, traditions, customs, and heritages.
Program Goals
- Improve American Indian/Alaska Native students' academic achievement
- Improve the overall school attendance rate of American Indian/Alaska Native students
- Improve the graduation rate of American Indian/Alaska Native students
- Reduce the dropout rate of American Indian/Alaska Native students
- Increase the number of American Indian/Alaska Native students who pursue post-secondary educational options
- Provide career guidance for American Indian/Alaska Native students
- Develop educational opportunities for American Indian/Alaska Native students that encourage an appreciation of
tribal languages and cultures
- Increase American Indian/Alaska Native student and family participation in academic and enrichment activities
