The New Teacher Induction Program supports new teachers in making the instructional transition with the New Teacher Curriculum Orientation and the Post-hire New Teacher Curriculum Orientation.
New Teacher Curriculum Orientation
The New Teacher Curriculum Orientation provides opportunities for teachers to become acquainted with curriculum, District resources, and information pertinent to having a successful first year of teaching in the Clark County School District. This orientation is conducted prior to the beginning of the school year.
Post-hire New Teacher Curriculum Orientation
The Post-hire New Teacher Curriculum Orientation provides opportunities for teachers hired after the beginning of the school year to become acquainted with curriculum, District resources, and information pertinent to having a successful first year of teaching in the Clark County School District.
Teacher Academies
The New Teacher Induction Program believes that a comprehensive approach to professional development is crucial to the success of all newly hired teachers. The professional learning offered in the New Teacher Induction Program delivers rigorous, research-based learning experiences and resources which are designed to challenge and support the new teacher in order to increase student achievement. The New Career Teacher Academy and the Experienced Teacher Academy have been designed to support the varied levels of experience and knowledge our new teachers possess.
New Career Teacher Academy
The New Career Teacher Academy is designed for teachers who are beginning their career in the education field. These teachers have less than 1 year of prior contracted teaching experience. The training program for new career teachers consists of Modules, Conferences, and/or content area training opportunities.
Experienced Teacher Academy
The Experienced Teacher Academy is designed for teachers who are experienced in the education field. These teachers have one or more years of prior contracted teaching experience. The training program for experienced teachers consists of two Conferences.
